The following is an excerpt of a newsletter detailing the status of their cause:
Dear Members and Friends of Yoga for NY:
...
More than anything, we need you and we need your support so that we can get our bills passed. Remember, licensing has nothing to do with quality of teaching, the most popular misconception about the issue. The burdens outweigh any consumer protection that licensing offers and would force the closing of small TT progams and old, well-established schools unable to meet Certificate of Occupancy requirements.
Hot-off-the-press good news-The Dept of Higher Education has shelved its plan to tweak the amendment language in our two bills, which could have taken months of committee meetings. This means that the moment an opening arises in the Assembly and Senate, our bills will get to the floor for a vote. And it looks like that will happen early in the next session. So stand by for an action alert.
...
Namaste!
