Mark your calendars. Friday, August 20, from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m., a group of talented Bhakti yogis will perform exotic temple dances of India along with traditional kirtan music and mantra meditation, illustrating how sacred sound can transform both emotions and physical matter. In the call-and-response style of singing called kirtan the audience will have an opportunity to participate in chanting sacred mantras that invoke peace and auspiciousness. There will be a theatrical drama performance about the philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita, titled The Three Modes of Nature.
The Krishna Culture Festival Tour is comprised of young students of Bhakti yoga who practice the joyful process of connecting with the Divine through acts of loving service. They are volunteering to travel and share their passion for an ancient culture with audiences in 34 cities across the USA and Canada this summer. They're only in Houston for one evening so be sure to stop by and visit their performance if you're interested in yoga, mantras and eastern mysticism. Everyone will be served a complimentary vegan meal at the conclusion of the event. How can you refuse?
This event is co-sponsored by the Texas Yoga Association (TYA) and part of the proceeds benefit the TYA.
